This year I competed in Musicwork’s Online Drum-Off, held on FaceBook. There were four weeks and I entered every week. For the first week, I posted a drum cover of ‘All My Life’ by the Foo Fighters and came first place in the under 17 category. I won $250 prize money. The judges said they were very impressed with my take on the famous rock hit. It’s great to have Musicworks supporting young and old New Zealand musicians and I can’t wait to see what they have got planned for next year.

My band Haywire entered the BandQuest in August 2017. 
It was great playing with other bands from schools in central Auckland! We got 3rd place overall and Matthew McFadden won Best Guitarist too! 

Our band’s name is “HAYWIRE” and we entered the Band Slam competition in Hamilton on Friday 4 August 2017. We finished the competition at 10:30pm and got really good results. It was really cool seeing all the other bands with a lot of different styles. We could see what worked well and what didn’t.

Matthew McFadden won Best Guitarist, Jackson Boswell won Best Drummer and...we won the competition!!!

We were able to score $250 which we believe should go to our school music department.
It was a great night and everyone enjoyed it!
